Game of Thrones / What You May Want To Know Before Hitting Season Five

Mar 30, 2015

As the light of this lowest season of the year, Game of Thrones is back again for Season Five this April! I am very excited and eager to see what will happen in the land of Westerous, though yes it is back with yet the worst case scenario possible now I don't even know who to root for anymore.

In case you are forgetting some occurances in the previous seasons already, I'll have you take a look at major cases you can expect from the season five! Please note that this post features plenty of spoilers from the latest seasons, so you might not want to read it if you aren't caught up on the series!

Admit It, You Are in Rage Waiting for His Following Fate

What we know: Our very favorite character indeed, left Kings Landing as the killer of both Joffrey Baratheon and Tywin Lannister last season. Not to mention Shae -- just don't. He is leaving with some helps, and when Jamie's intention is clearly out of that love for his little brother, we wonder what Varys' is.

What to expect: Tyrion and Varys will travel as far as crossing the Narrow Sea. For everyone excitement, the already familiar land across the Narrow Sea is where all of Mother of Dragon's story based. It is clear from the trailer dropped that Tyrion will pursue Varys' plan to find someone stronger than Tommen and softer than Stannis, a better ruler, for the Iron Thrones. And he is not talking about a he.

Yet Not So Loved Mother of Dragons

What we know: Danerys is hitting a downfall last season when she is forced to chain two of her dragons for burning a farmer's daughter alive. Her slavers' bays are in revolutionary chaos, and she didn't even have Sir Jorah by her side anymore.

What to expect: We all are hoping that Tyrion would actually made it to her chamber alive. We also hope Dany wouldn't chopped his head off right away, simply for being a Lannister. Personally I also hope Sir Jorah would made it too, and come on, really; she needs to cool things down with her dragons. Dragon-less mother of dragons is not so convincing to heard, especially if you're planning to take a hell of seven kingdoms.

Valar Morghulis

What we know: Arya Stark is now off to land of Braavos to learn how to literary shortenen her death list. She left The Hound to die slowly in pain after a fight with Brianne on previous season before departing to Braavos.

What to expect: I really hope Arya is turning into a major badass by her training in Braavos. But Bravoos household name Jaqen H'ghar had taught us that The Faceless Man's style won't involve simply a swordfighting practices by days and nights. After Bran's plotline (who's confirmed won't be on screen this season to keep it true with the book's timeline), I don't think I'd love more magic apprenticeship for The Starks. Can't they just be an extremely good slash charismatic swordmen like their brothers Robb and Jon to any form of avengence?

Keeping Up With The Lannisters

What we know: Tywin is dead, so Castlery Rock will definitely need a new ruler. Appareantly in Kings Landing, Tommen Baratheon slash Lannister is still to marry Margaery Tyrell, and I bet The Dowager Queen won't be so happy about it.

What to expect: Clearly, yet another royal wedding. Let's hope they found another wedding organizer this time to keep things, well according to plan. I doubt even Cersei can found any other way to secure their alliance with The Tyrells when it is so clear that the only thing Margaery ever wanted is to become the queen. Margaery is also so good at stealing the very king's heart too these days. However, now that Tywin is gone for good, Cersei will have a certain freedom to do whatever the hell she wants. She is not known to be super wise or what, so the probability of her blowing everything off with stupid decisions all based on anger, feminine hormone, and of course her beloved children, is opening at a very high number. Without Tywin (and Jamie, who got his hand chopped off last season), The Lannisters are at high risks of being attacked by their enemy. If anything actually happened, let's pray a quick death at least for our dear sweet King Tommen.

We Love To Hate Sansa Stark

What we know: More, and more stupid decisions. Trusting Littlefinger is the last things I'd do, kissing him is beyond gross. I mean, he is as old as Ned and Catelyn. And you know I don't talk about the sweet goodbye forehead kiss. Sansa is dyeing her hair black, if that is interesting. She, too, choose to trust Littlefinger and goes with whatever his plan is.

What to expect: At least it seems like Sansa is learning a thing or two from Littlefinger about scheming and being smart about it. To be fair, Littlefinger did saved her from Kings Landing so maybe she would trust him as she got no one else to count on. But I don't think Littlefinger's reason to save Sansa is pure because of his promise to Catelyn, or moreover, kindest. I hope Sansa is playing smart with going with his plan in the North too. I mean, she is still The Princess of The North people rang the bell overnight the day she was born for to many of The Stark's loyal bannermen and she is right there. If she is being a little smart, maybe she really could use her gifted beauty to rewaken the she-wolf.

And Finally, Beyond The Wall

What we know: A very badass fight in Castle Black when Jon proves himself to be a great warrior. We also witnessed the first confrontation of Stannis Baratheon in the northest place he's ever been. We can relax for awhile now with The Wildlings under Stannis' army control, but the real enemy is still out there, and they are coming.

What to expect: The fate of Jon, Stannis, and Mance Ryder under one hell of a roof. Stannis would certainly aim for The Boltons because he needs to pass Winterfell to go south. If he actually manages to kick their ass, I'd be very very happy. I think I don't need to remind you about the Red Wedding, no. Stannis won't be doing that before deciding Mance's fate, though, since Mance has no intention to kneel before him. I wonder if Stannis would mind about The White Walkers also. It'd be great if he's landing Castle Black some of his army, but I don't think he's be so generous, though. Jon knows something now, at least. He knows that winter is coming, and so are The White Walkers. He's planning to unite with The Wildlings once, but now with Mance's as good as dead, to whom will he proposing this to? And, will The Nights Watch agree?

Plus, I think we will certainly have a sight of Dorne. Remember Oberyn Martell? The Martells won't be so happy to heard the news of Oberyn's horryfing death. They don't hurt little girl in Dorne, but I would be ever so furious for Myrcella if I were Cersei.

It's a wrap, and I am even more excited as I write this! Game of Thrones Season 5 will return in HBO on April 8, 2015. And in case you haven't, you can watch the 30 minutes length of Game of Thrones Season 5 behind-the-since on https://youtu.be/p9Mi17nLflY. Enjoy!

(REVIEW) Cinderella / Have Courage and Be Kind (2015)

Mar 14, 2015

I've been excited for Cinderella for a long, long time, I am super glad it doesn't suck. Gotta say, I came for the king of the north and definitely stay for Kit (no, not Harrington). There are no tricks, twists, and works of D&D in the movie. Works of D&D is a term made by me for a screen adaptation that goes contrary with the book, if you know what I mean. Not a haters, though! They are doing a very good job.

Cinderella (2015) is a honest and clear mandatory adaptation about the most well-known beautiful lady in fairytales industry. Contrary with some of my friends, I'm not dissappointed with lack of twists in the movie. I personally think Cinderella needs to be made like this, because it's beautiful that way. Thank you, Kenneth Branagh.

Have courage and be kind. Cinderella is the kindest princess I know in the franchise. Belle is forever my favorite, but Cinderella is a story about kindest things. In reality nowadays, she is close to being stupid. The movie is not reality, and it doesn't even set in nowadays. But we don't buy the waiting-to-be-saved-princess anymore. Young girls need not to be encouraged to do that. They need to be brave for themselves, and they are constantly reminding about that now after Brave, Frozen, and maybe The Princess & The Frog. What they are need to be reminding is how to be kind, and no princess is better than Cinderella in doing so.

I love how the moral lesson told. I'm actually moved myself. I love the saying from Cinderella's mother so much; have courage and be kind. Cinderella is still the kindest princess, and she is now brave enough to fight her cruel stepmother to unite with his prince, who has a name now! I noted how much I love Prince Kit's back-story. You know, in the book we don't even know his name. Along with the very popular you can't marry the man you just met, now we have ideas about who this gentleman actually is, and we fell ever so more for him! We learn so much about his side of story, his love for his father, his perspective of the world and the kingdom he soon will rule; the very reason for calling him prince charming in the first place.

I have to say Cinderella is doing a very good casting job! Yes yes I'm a subjective fan of Richard Madden, starring as Prince Kit Charming, but you can't argue about choosing Lily James as Cinderella either. Lily is a perfect conventional beauty, and she happens to be a sweetheart too. I love her from Downton Abbey and potray her in the dresses and gowns ever since. I don't know how well will she play modern roles, but she kills every conventional roles in past era. (Her next project happens to be with Richard also, a Romeo and Juliet adaptation, so I guess she will keeb
p wearing the gowns for awhile).

Cate Blanchett, of course, is Cate Blanchett. She is super beautiful as ever, I will fall for her first in the ball if I were Kit before Cinderella's entrance. I also feel the urge to note Helena Bonham Carter for her fairy-godmother role! (I still haven't forgiven her for killing Sirius, though). But yes, I love the casting that much.

Need I not say this; Richard Madden is super handsome, now with the dirts not covering all of his face. And I just realized he has those beautiful blue eyes I literary can swim on. I came with doubt about Prince Charming because I get so used seeing Richard on Game of Thrones as Robb Stark. Robb and Kit are both prince-turn-king, but they are so different in so many levels. Kit's Father didn't die executed in front of his daughters, for example. Geez, I'm being so melancholy again. I'm so keen on Richard's Kit now, though, I almost forget about The Red Wedding (just kidding, I'll never forget that, Boltons).

(Ella and Prince Kit's royal wedding is safe and sound, although Kit and Robb are choosing the exact same path to pursue love over their prince-duty! Thank God Disney isn't written by GRRM.)

Well, as a embarassing fan-girl of Game of Thrones, I found it really hard to simply watch something without mentioning someone I knew from the show. You know, "Tyrion! Tyrion!" (X-Men: Days of Future Past), "It's the girl who played Missandei on GOT!" (Fast Furious 7), "I knew he looks so familiar!" (Dracula), "You really know nothing, Jon Snow." (Pompeii), and so on, since they are being so successful right now; I heard Emilia Clarke will star in Terminator and Sophie Turner will also join the X-Men franchise as young Jane. Then I'm being unecessary proud for no absolute reason. 

Thankfully, Cinderella is well-done. I love it. Richard Madden is doing a very good job. Now my girl friends are going to worship Richard for Kit and I'll be like, I know him since Robb Stark so I have better claim for the iron throne... for him, I mean. Ha!

And have courage and be kind,
/ Michelle
