Had a chance to spend a sunny date in Singapore with the loveliest Clarissa the other day, and the pleasure was all mine. It was a clueless kind of day, and we clearly hadn't done our homework with the Singapore-where-to-go research paper (tears of joy). Thought of sharing some notes if you are also looking forward to make a trip to Singapore!
The National Gallery is, beyond amazing. It really is a grande beautiful space even from afar, even from outside, even when you have to wait 90 minutes to buy ticket, even when people are refunding because to enter you have to wait even longer (insert even more tears here). Jokes aside, I'm truly captivated by the art instalment. I see how people are very excited; it is beautiful, the architecture is amazing, it broadcasts live music by local artist, and the list goes on.
(Why Indonesia hasn't funded this yet?)
It is unfortunate that I didn't get to explore what's inside, but with those many of people I mightn't get a chance to be swayed away by the beautiful instalment. Not gonna lie, I'd be too busy searching for less crowded angle to take a Insta-worthy picture for hours! So the serendipity is, to chit-chat and strolling around so cluelessly, finding out places to go in last-minute time, almost missing out the bus stop, and fun stuffs like that worth to blog about.
Surprisingly, I usually am very thorough in creating itinerary. I love creating itinerary. This time, though, after ten consecutive day in Singapore due to family matter, the spell has been broken. Just basically doing daily activity in Singapore weekday made me feel slightly local, and locals don't research places, they know! Having Clarissa also attributes a core point, because she is basically the real local. There, I fail to elaborate that she is here working Monday to Monday because she is that smart professional it girl (and apparently single, guys).
It's been a long time since our successful day out is based a lot on how many good pictures we've taken, how many of that is worth to post on Instagram. We are looking for cute cafes and looking at its interior not menus, we are looking at lively street and calculating so quick inside our head about the best angle to present the most of it. While it is a completely fun thing to do, don't let it consume you. When the photo turns so bad, laugh out of it. When the places are nothing like the bloggers' photographs, enjoy every bit of the failure.
I might not get the best pictures that day under the sting of unforgiving sunrays (why), but I had the pleasure to chat a lot. I get to know that we shared so many perspective on life, and nothing is more compelling than talking with someone like that! It was hot, clueless, Insta-failure kind of day, but a good day, after all.
